WAIT FOR THE LIGHT!

In Genesis 5:21, 23b we hear the people saying, "We hope the Lord will punish both of you for making the king and his official hate us.  Now they even have an excuse to kill us!"  And later, in the book of Luke , we find Jesus adding to our concern by saying, "This is your time, and darkness is in control."  What?  Must we expect to live in darkness, hate, and killing?

And, at this much later time, there seems to some similarity to Biblical times with the conditions  in the world today.  There are  people reigning in some places who desire to kill, even obliterate, those of us in the free world.  And where does that put us?  In a very tight place!  What must we do?  What have we done before when we were in tight places?  What must we do now?  Lets look at what we have done previously when things seemed to have no real answer.

Jerry's answer to how he felt and what to do when in a tight place are in his words...."When I am put in a tight place, many times I have felt,  "Where is God in this?  God seems to be provoking my situation!" And sometimes things even start to get worse and I wonder, "I've prayed!  I've done all I know to do!  Why doesn't God help?  Where are you, God?"(And Jerry continues...)

"The passages I've chosen today reveal to me my impatience and my lack of trust.  I am like the Israelites!  The Israelites saw their situation go from bad to worse with the king and mistrusted and feared their circumstances.  Although they despaired of their situation and became highly anxious to leave Egypt, they didn't realize that God had let darkness be in control, in order to destroy the king at the final moment.  No Israelite was left behind in the darkness and they had high incentives to leave."

We all have Egypt -moments, too.  Everyone does.  We live in a time of great fear and mistrust of those whom we do not know.  Jerry has them, too, more-so in the past than now, in spite of these trust-less ones around the world.  Years ago, he stated this: "Yes, I have Egypt-moments and attitudes.  But I shall remember that sometimes I must let darkness be in control until God is ready to shine His light.  Please remind me of this, Lord, should I need it. Amen."

And I pray that God will remind you reading this and me as well, in this day and time, for He will always win in the final moments of any hour.  God will always be the ultimate victor. Always!  Praise Him!!
