In reading my morning assignment for journaling today, the words of 2 John jumped out at me, answering what we might ask ourselves, "What is love?" 2 John, verse 6 says: "And this is love; that we walk in obedience to His commands. As you have heard from the beginning, His command is that you walk in love."
The following Study goes on to say, "We can show love in many ways: by avoiding prejudice and discrimination, by accepting people, by listening, helping, giving, serving and refusing to judge. Knowing God's command is not enough. We must put it into practice, "walking in obedience to His commands."
Another part of the Study refers to "being watchful against false teaching." I encourage you, if you are new to "walking in obedience to Christ's commands," to check what you are learning here on these pages with an authorized bible teacher. It is vital to be watchful for false teaching. I pray that it is not so on these pages, but I am not an ordained person, so check with a pastor friend if you have any question about the authenticity of Jesus in my words.
Jesus is my friend and I want Him to be yours, as well. One of the things I learned long ago is this: "Make a friend; be a friend; bring that friend to Christ." Loving takes time and courage. I think I have both for loving you.
