TODAY IS A NEW DAY

Yesterday I mentioned that today would be our 60yr. wedding anniversary.  That doesn't change the fact that today is still a new day, another day to accept the Lord and His precepts, another new day to show the Lord God that we love Him, another day to reach out to our neighbor and show him or her Christ's love.  In fact, maybe we need God's restoration because we have not fulfilled that which we desired to do. So let's continue with that in mind.

Jesus can restore us, always.  He doesn't scold, nor does He humiliate. He doesn't tell us to try harder. With Jesus, there is no shaming.  All He asks is for us to tell Him, once again, that we love Him.

Remember how Peter failed Jesus the night Jesus was arrested? He  denied that he knew Jesus three times!  Peter hated himself for what he had done, but could not undo it.  All Jesus said to him is, "Peter do you love me?" If you answer like Peter did, you will say, "Yes, Lord I do love you!" And Jesus will remind you of what it says in John 14:15, "If you truly love me, you will obey me."

Through prayer and listening to the voice of the Holy Spirit, we will truly have the love for Him that Jesus desires, and we will serve Him in the way He asks, through our obedience and faithfulness.

We cannot resolve to love God and obey Him; we simply must show love  and be obedient.

Loving God more than we love anything else, you and I are going to make it through the days and the tomorrows!

I am on my knees for you and for me,

Jo in MN
