Hello, again! Back to the blog and the faithful readers! We are IN, by the way, in our new digs and liking it very much. Much to learn, much to enjoy! Today, I want to thank the family and many others who helped us make this move. The body of Christ came together in action for us! Thanks, everyone!
Referring to an Aug. 27, 10 year old work, I am using the Scripture from Rev.1:6, " (Christ) lets us rule as kings and serve God his Father as priests. To him be glory and power forever and ever. Amen."
"What an honor God has given His people! While some may come by the title of king or priest in the literal sense, many have served in our own smaller world with authority and right. We are free men and women in God. We have a choice between right and wrong, education or not, married or single--most things in life are choices and we have the freedom to make them. To serve God as a "priest" or not serve God is one of the biggest choices each of us has to make. Priests don't necessarily have to lead a congregation, but, as I see it, it is one of the greatest privileges there is.
"But you are in the priesthood if you pray with a hurting friend, share a communion with a house-bound person, tutor the non-reader, treat with respect those who are being punished for disobeying the law, feed the homeless-- these are ways to serve as a "priest." Christ asks us--lets us--do these things and so much more. How privileged we are to be His!
"Lord Jesus, how I thank you for the honor you give those who love you by allowing us to serve you. May we be worthy of the privilege. To you be the Glory, forever. Amen."
There were a lot of priests here in our new home recently! People everywhere, first wrapping and packing, then delivering and unpacking! It took a lot of hands, priest's hands, to make this move. How grateful I am!
Again, To God be the Glory!
