"On Patmos Island off of Greece, John receives this vision of the ultimate hope for humankind--God wants His people restored and reconciled, not lost in the worry and fears of this world. Jesus speaks to John and says, "It is I, Jesus" who was there at the beginning of the earth and will be there for the ending.
"God wants people to come to Him in repentance for their sin, and to be fully restored. He wants none to perish, but acknowledges that those who reject Him write their own destiny. When I feel the tug at my heart and hear Jesus say to me, "It is I, Jesus," I recognize he is speaking to me, Jerry. I will listen and quickly respond, "My Lord and my God!"
"Lord Jesus, I praise you that you come to me and to others and say, "It is I, Jesus." Thank you, Lord. Amen."
And I praise God, too, that I have the privilege of sending out words that may encourage someone out there in the great unknown to go to Him and also hear Him say, "It is I, Jesus!"
