On June 9, 2006, Jerry chose this entry from Ephesians 5:8,9, which reads, "Live as Children of Light, for the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true."
"Paul writes to encourage the hard-headed to live as children of the Light. Live knowing that through belief in Jesus' death and resurrection we are given the gift of being called a child of God, a child of Light. Don't look for a battle, for chaos, for argument. Let your light so shine that others may see that the light in you is something different from what the world sees, which is darkness.
"Because Jesus gave me the wonderful gift of salvation and eternal life in God, my light must shine brightly in a world which is anxious and afraid. My light must be a challenge to hatred, greed, malice, etc. that the light of God will reveal the error of the World's way. I am to be Light to a world enveloped in darkness."
"Lord, let your Light so shine in me in order to proclaim that I am your child, so that others might want that same Light in their own lives. Amen."
The above is Jerry's truth, and his life does proclaim it. I am honored to be his wife and soul-mate. Now in our 80's, we have believed in each other for over 65 years. And we have believed in the Light of the World for almost that long, as well. More than likely, the latter has helped to develop the former in becoming Children of the Light.
Oh, how I desire this for you who are reading this! Won't you also bear this Light so that the world might see it and become bearers of the Light, as well? Then, someday, the Light will shine upon the world and its parts that now does not shine. Oh, that will be the Day! A glorious day!
Enter with us for this glorious moment, won't you? My thoughts and prayers are with you!
