PROVIDING FOR OTHERS

No, this is not a request for funds! As much as the title implies, this is my blog for Monday, June 23. Written by Jerry back in 2005, it does teach us "from 1Tim. 5:8 that we do have a responsibility to those whom we have born and placed into this world!"  Yep!  We know it for we are the ones who have come up with lunch money, tuition, and sometimes help with that first car payment!  And it has not always been easy to do it!  But, it does tell us what to do in the Bible. " However, it is not Jesus' words that tells us this, but the author of Timothy, most likely Paul who stresses the importance for those who can to care for those of their family to meet their needs.  As God's children, He faithfully cares and provides for those who trust in Him.  In that same sense, if we have the means, we are to care for, support, pray for, and assist our birth family as well as our Christian family."

"God calls me (Jerry)  to not be selfish but to be there for those around me, and to help when times are difficult for them.  Lord God, give me a heart that sees and meets the needs of others.  Amen."

And as  the man's happy wife, I would like to add that Jerry, with God's love, has never hesitated to help our kids and their families, whenever we could.  And by God's grace. we have been able to do that without any strain. I thank God for putting this scripture in Jerry's heart and hope this belief continues in our family in the generations to come.

If you are under financial strain, do you know someone that might help? Pray about it; God will guide you.
