GOD'S COMFORT, OUR WORK

Well, where did the time go these past two days?  Duties involved with our new "digs",  coughing doggie, (and having a forgetful mind not helping) kept me from the discovery that days were flitting past.Time to regroup and pray that I might keep constant in my life the need to remember my joy in reminding others of the love of God.  And now from words of the past......

"Today, I'd like to remind you of the words of Zechariah 8:13b, "The Word of Hosts says, "Do not be afraid but let your hands be strong."  God speaks to the people through the prophet Zechariah and encourages them to not be afraid as they encounter what seems insurmountable odds.  In this passage God also says that we humans do have a part.  We are not just to sit there and do nothing but wait and watch, we are to be there with hands, hearts and minds that are strong, firm, dedicated, and committed.  When we do our part, then God does His part. This is what it means to be obedient.

"God wants us to have courage and face life's struggles with His strength empowering us.  He says let our hands and hearts and minds be strong for Him.  That is, be ready to be used in His work.  We are not to be bystanders just watching a parade, but active ones who are being obedient to Him."

Lord God, give us strength of body, mind, and spirit when adversity presents itself.  Give us willing hearts, Oh Lord!  And Lord, keep me true to the daily tasks which I have promised to do.  Amen.
