WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?

"Mark 8:27-29 says, "Jesus asked His disciples, "Who  do the people say that I am?" And they answered, "John the Baptist, or Elijah or a prophet."  Then Jesus asked His disciples, "But who do you say that I am?"  And Peter answered, "You are the Messiah."

"This is the fundamental question that Jesus asks of each one of us. Who do you say that I am? On this answer stands the pivotal questions of all of life. If we can't proclaim Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God,  the Redeemer of the world, nothing else matters.  There is no gray area here.  Jesus either is who he says He is or he is a farce and a liar of the greatest measure.

"My answer (Jerry's answer  and mine) to Jesus was without any hesitation.  "Jesus, you are the Messiah sent from God to redeem and bring forgiveness of sin and eternal life to me and to all the peoples of the world.  You are not a Messiah for a few select people, but for the entire world.

"Lord Jesus, You are God's chosen, the Messiah, chosen to redeem a broken world.  Amen."

Today, tomorrow and yesterday, Lord, you are the One.  This is what we say that you are.  You are the Messiah of the Scripture, and the Lord of our lives.  Thanks be to God.  Amen
