Luke 12:25,26 tells us, "Can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your span of life? If then you are not able to do so small a thing as that, why do you worry about the rest?"
Jesus is telling His disciples and others how foolish it is to worry. No amount of worrying and stewing can add a second to our lives. Isn't it foolish, then, to worry? Each problem will go away eventually, without any worrying needed. Solutions will show themselves in time. Prayer? Yes! Worry? No !
When we take ourselves out of the center of our lives and put our trust in God's leading and guidance, we can stay perfectly at peace whether we're in the midst of chaos or in sublime joy.
This is difficult to remember when we are forced with a pending problem. Yet, Jesus says, "Don't worry! I'm in charge." My only hope of achieving inner peace and outer calm is to place my hand in His and say, "Lord, you lead the way and I will follow." This, I must remember!
Lord God, give me your peace, so that I do not worry or fear. Amen.
No matter what should happen in the future for both me and Jerry, we trust the Lord God is with us and will be with us. Our prayer daily is, "Lord, lead the way and we will follow."
So may it ever be!
