IT'S A DONE DEAL!

Matthew 17:2 says this, "There in front of the disciples, Jesus was completely changed.  His face was shining like the sun, and his clothes became white as light." 


On a certain mountain, at a certain hour, Jesus was changed from his earthly pallor to having a heavenly glow. Peter, James, and John witnessed this and were amazed.  Their lives were changed because of hearing God the Father correspond with His Son.


I can understand what the disciples went through in a very small way.  One night, doing homework for Bible Study Fellowship in the book of John, I read that Jesus died for forgiveness of our sin and carried our guilt and sin onto the cross in perfect sacrifice.  My sins!  Mine!


Being forgiven meant a lot to me, as did His death for all my sins.  But carrying my guilt?  That blew me away!  I wept in pure thanksgiving.  I had carried excess guilt for a lot of things and had a hard time forgiving myself.  And now I learned that Jesus had taken care of that guilt, along with my sin!  My tears continued to flow over and over, thank you, Lord Jesus!  Thank you."


To this day, I am still grateful and again cry out to the Lord with the purest joy! But, the Lord gently reminds me, "It's over.  It's already done. Be at peace." 


And  once again, He shines like the sun!
