TIME AND PRAYER=HUMILITY

In Matthew 5:44 it tells us "When someone gives you a hard time, respond with the energies of prayer for then you are working out of your true selves, your God-created selves."

"Time.  Just take a tiny, little bit of time.  time to pray.  the energy needed to take that time is the most important energy I'll ever use.  Time to remember to pray.  And to pray for the person or persons who may be giving me a hard time.  Or to just pray to God, remembering that He cares,  and ask "How do I handle this?"

"God will surely answer.  I know for a fact that God does answer.  Many times in my desperation, I have prayed.  God gives me wisdom and humility.  And even if you only were to pray first to God once in a lifetime, God would give you wisdom and humility, too.  If only once in your lifetime instead of lashing back at someone, you were to respond with acceptance and humility instead of hot  words of pride, you would find a return of that same acceptance and humility.

"God, when I'm feeling attacked, help me to remember your gift of time and prayer that I might respond with humility, wisdom, and love.  Thank you.  Amen."

This prayer is just as important today as it was years ago.  My own self is like many others, wanting to become more like Jesus.  Thank you, Lord, for loving us in spite of our imperfections.
