"Mark 12:25 says, "As it is with angels now, all our ecstasies and intimacies then will be with God." And scholars conclude from Mark's words that when the dead are raised , that is how it will be for us. We will be intimate and ecstatic with God.
"As a living human, I try to be intimate with God and yearn for ecstasy with God, but it is hard to find this in my human experience. I am content with study, services, and having faith that God is with me in all His majesty.
"Perhaps some have true intimacy, like Mother Theresa; others may know ecstasy. I live on faith that God's presence is real. My eyes have not seen God, but only the results of God's presence. That's enough for me. I have not heard God's voice but have heard the voices of others who love God teach me, and have sensed His leading in my thinking. Both bring me peace and assurance. I have not fainted with rapture or been "slayed" by His Spirit, but I have known God's healing power in sickness and for that I am ever thankful. My trust and love for God have grown strong. so I am content to wait until the dead are raised to know God in a different way. As of now, God is here, near me. God's Spirit is within.
"Thank you, God. Amen."
And I pray the same for you, dear friend.
