Songs Of Joy

From Psalm 47:1, 6 ..."Clap your hands all you people; shout to God with loud songs of joy...Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises."

The Psalmist proclaims that as people of God we have received so much that how can we not express our thanks without clapping our hands and shouting our songs of joy!  Yes!  Whatever church you may attend, in a building set aside for worshipping or in the quiet of your own home, how can we not express our thanks?

Jerry and I drive from our home in Stillwater to Mahtomedi to attend St. Andrews church, and are looking forward to attending Easter Sunday with our son and his family.  Being all together as a church is truly lovely, especially when our grandkids are with us. And we attend the service where clapping hands are common and the joy of Jesus makes us festive in our togetherness.  Psalm 47 could be our theme song!  Those verses could be our "worship  statement!"  We are a joyous, grateful people who boldly proclaim that Jesus Christ is Lord!

My hands and feet won't be still this Sunday when I sense that Jesus is once again raised up! What a Gift of Life we have been given!  What a joy it is to gather together to sing and praise His name!

Lord Jesus, We sing Songs of Joy with hearts bursting with praises.  All for you.  And for our love for each other!  Amen.
