8:10A.M. AND ALL IS WELL

In I Chronicles 12:18b, the Word tells us, "All is well; yes, all is well with you.  And all's well with whoever helps you."

In this portion of First Chronicles, Amasai, Leader of the Thirty (the strongest men in David's army) having been moved by the Spirit to speak, told David he would be successful in the coming battle. And like Amasai, Theresa of Avila, one of the age-old saints and a student of Christ's life and  gospel, also had a similar saying, "All will be well, yes, all will be well."  She lived by these words.  Many detractors tried to destroy her and her work, but her letters and essays have lasted through the centuries.

These words are the simplest statements of faith that all is well, and will be well no matter what the circumstances.  No matter how things look or feel today, all will be well, for God is involved in how we live and feel.  If God is involved, things are as they are only for a time and all will be well.  This, too, shall  pass and all will be well.  This, too, can provide me with what I need, therefore, all is well.

God, you provide for us, always, with whatever we need, and all is well.  Just the knowledge that you are with us and within us let's us know that "all is well." We trust you, but ask you to forgive us if we forget for a moment that You are in charge of all things.  Help us to always remember that "all is well with us because all is well with You." Amen.

Lest we forget we are loved,

Jo INMN
