John 17:21 gives us Jesus words, "As you Father, are in me and I am in you, may all believers also be in us, so that the world will believe you have sent me."
Jesus is praying to the Father for us, for those whom he has called, His believers. In the last part of this verse you can see the words, so that. Jesus is asking that we might all be one...Father, Son, and believers... so that the world will believe you have sent me. Jesus' coming to earth was so that the world would believe. All Jesus' preaching, teaching and healing was done so that those who were eye-witnesses would believe, and those who would hear and read in the years to come would also believe.
Our testimony and witness to Jesus is to bring others to know and believe that Jesus is the Christ and that in Him we are one with God. This is also our assurance for life everlasting.
This is my prayer, and yours if you choose to make it so. Lord, help my belief to be strong enough that others have their hearts opened to receive you for themselves. Amen.
