PRIDEFUL DISOBEDIENCE

Today we have a message  much like yesterday's message: 1 Samuel 15:23, "Rebelling against God or disobeying Him because you are proud is just as bad as worshipping idols."

It seems God felt there was nothing worse than Israelites' continued disobedience by worshipping the idols of other countries.  In the verse above, God says through Samuel, "Prideful disobedience is just as bad."

What does prideful disobedience look like?  Being so certain that one is right that the feelings of another are hurt or their value is questioned. Or having an advantage that someone else has not had and acting superior. What does not having prideful disobedience look like? Perhaps like keeping silent and praying for God's guidance before giving your opinion or stating your opinion and being willing to let it go, or listening attentively, encouraging, and putting others first.

God, I don't want to be proud, nor do I want to be disobedient.  Help me, and any of my friends who suffer with this sin, to remember these verses from Samuel and, also, help me to be more attentive and caring with others.  Thank you for this lesson today.  AMEN.

In this circumstance, we need each other.  Hope you are with me!
