PS.39:12,13 says, "Hear my prayer, O Lord..for I am your passing guest, an alien, like all my forebears....before I depart and am no more." 1 Cor. 13:12 "For now I know only in part, but then I will know fully even as I have been fully known."
The Psalmist and Paul know that we are here on earth for just a short, fleeting moment in history. We are simply God's passing guests. We are aliens in a strange land for we are just passing through until we are at home with the Lord. Then all our questions will be answered and we will fully know all, even as God has fully known us in our innermost hearts.
When I realize I'm just a passing guest of God here on earth for a short visit by eternal standards, I can relax and not worry about all the small stuff. I'll simply enjoy my short time as His Guest, living, loving, serving Him and being happy I'm here.
Lord, I thank you for revealing to me the knowledge and acceptance that I'm an alien here, just your passing, but invited, guest. Amen.
