TOO HARD!

In Numbers 11:14, because the Israelites were complaining because they had no meat, "Moses said to the Lord, 'I am not able to carry this people alone, for they are too heavy for me.  If this is the way you are to treat me, put me to death at once.'"

From the very beginning when the Lord called Moses, Moses wanted to decline and told the Lord, "Not me!  I can't do it!  Send someone else."  All along the way in the wilderness, Moses met opposition from the people he was sent to help out of Egyptian slavery.  They complained and criticized. Finally Moses said, "I can't take it anymore; let me die.  This is too hard."

Oftentimes, we see that God uses the least likely person for His purposes.  As humans we are inclined to withdraw and tell God, "I can't; I have no skill in this area.  It's too hard for me!"

When we might be ready to give up and quit, we can know from God's Word that God is there beside us and will never leave us.  In Psalm 27:1, it says, "The Lord is my light and my salvation.  Whom shall I fear?"  That is when we must turn to God, for when the going gets tough, the tough grab the Lord's hand and together get it done.

Lord God, keep us from giving up when we want to proclaim, "Too hard!"  Take our hands and walk with us, whatever you may call us to do, separately or together.  Amen.
