CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT

In Ephesians 5:8,9 we learn that we must "Live as children of light for the fruit of the light is found in all that is good and right and true."


Paul writes to encourage the hard-headed to live as children of the light.  Live knowing that through belief in Jesus' death and resurrection we are given the gift of being called a child of God, a child of light.  Don't look for a battle, for chaos, for argument.  Let our lights so shine that others may see that  in you and in me,  something is different from the world and its darkness.


Because Jesus gave us the wonderful gift of salvation and eternal life in God, our lights must shine brightly in a world full of anxiety and fear.  Our lights must be a challenge to hatred, greed, malice, etc.,  that the light of God will reveal the error of the world's way.  We are to be light to a world enveloped in darkness.


And now, for each of us to pray...Lord Jesus, let your light so shine in me to proclaim that I am your child, so that others might want the same light in their lives. And help me to lead others to You.  Amen.
