GOD IS IN CHARGE

From 2 Chr. 20:1,17,and 21 we read, "Thus says the Lord to you, Do not fear or be dismayed at this great multitude against you, for the battle is not yours, but God's...This battle is not for you to fight; take your position, stand still and see the victory of the Lord on your behalf...for the Lord will be with you...As you go, sing to the Lord and say, "Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His steadfast love endures forever.'"

This scripture is well supported in many places including Jesus' own words.  We are told to always give thanks to God in all circumstances and to remember the battle is God's,not ours.  Even when we can't possibly see how a situation will play out, we are to praise God and remember His love is always available for us, if we but call on His name.  God is in charge.

These days we find disquiet, with the threat of real violence in our neighborhoods or a simpler discussion of which is best, the quiet, serenity of a church or the church whose way of worshipping God is with waving arms and shouts of Hallelujah ! We are not to argue about these things, but to love, love, and again, love!  It's easy to love the ones who love Jesus, no matter how they worship Him!  But it will be much harder to love those who create violence!  And only God can show us how to do that!  And we must begin to ask God to show us that very thing!

We are not to be led to disquiet or despair; we are to be careful of that.  We can remind ourselves as we sing the words, "Give thanks to the Lord for He is good; His love endures forever." God is always in charge!! Not me!

Lord God, we thank you that we can turn over to you all things for your control, not ours.  Amen.
