In Luke 16:8, we hear, "The rich man commended his manager because he had acted shrewdly." Jesus then says, "I want you to be smart for what is right using every adversity to stimulate you to creative survival, to concentrate your attention on the bare essentials, so you'll live, really live." (The Message)
Jesus tells us, His followers, that we are to act shrewdly, but rightly, with money in the ways of the world so that others may share in our resources to ease their debt and hunger and come to know the grace of God. Money is only a tool, a means to an end and is never to be an end in itself. If it is, it will become our master, the one whom we serve. So, we must look at it as having a gift from God and re-give it to be used for God's glory and to proclaim His Kingdom. Lord, keep me from idolizing the money that we are given. Amen."
Lord Jesus, thank you for this lesson on the use of money, that money can be a tool to be used for Your continued Glory! Amen.
