THE LORD NEEDS IT!

Luke 19:31 tells us, "If anyone asks why you are doing that, just say, "The Lord needs it."


"Jesus needed a young donkey to ride into Jerusalem  on the day that has become known as Palm Sunday, and he sent a couple of disciples after it. No Problem!  The man was right there with his donkey; no questions were asked.  Sometimes we're asked, "Why do you do it?" in reference to serving others.  People become perplexed and shake their heads.  Well, perhaps the perfect answer to that question would be, "Because the Lord needs it."


"No matter what it is we do, we do it because Christ loves us and has told us to love our neighbor as ourselves.  Sometimes I wonder why Christ doesn't call on us even more, as we have been given so much and have more time than busy young families.  And we have prayed for the mind and heart of Christ, so whatever we see to do, it seems to me, is something the Lord needs to have done. Why would I refuse the Lord?  Jesus has refused me nothing.


"God, no one can out-give you. You never ask to be repaid for all you give us.  All you ask is that we love you and our neighbors.  Help us to recognize what you need, for you desire nothing except what is truly needed to help this world know and love you.  By our service, we pray others might know you, God.  Amen."


Are we still  looking for what our Lord needs?  I pray that is the truth!
