WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?

"Once when Jesus was praying alone, with only his disciples near him, he asked them, "Who do the crowds say that I am?"  They answered, "John the Baptist, but others say Elijah; and still others, that one of the ancient prophets has arisen."  Jesus then said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" And Peter answered, "You are the Messiah of God."" (Luke 9:18-20)

This is the defining question of the New Testament.  On this question and answer all else hinges.  If  Jesus is not who he says he is, there is no reason to follow Him.  We should simply look for another way to guide our lives.  If he is not divine he's the biggest liar that ever lived.  If he was just a 'good" man or a prophet, he would then be totally false and  proved a liar.

Our faith hinges on our answer to Jesus, "Who do you, Jerry, Jo, or you the reader, say that I am?"  My confession is simply, "You are the Christ, the Messiah, sent from God!"

Lord God, we praise you that our hearts sing with joy to proclaim your divinity!  Amen.

If you, too, say that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, sent from God...Well, Praises to the King!!
