In Acts 6:15 we are told, "As all those who sat on the High Council looked at Stephen, they found they couldn't take their eyes off him--his face was like the face of an angel."
"Witnesses were bribed to speak against Stephen and they did. But now, the council had to bring a guilty verdict against him, but his face was aglow with love and forgiveness! Now what do they do?
"I love the tory of Stephen; he is one of my Bible heroes. Imagine his sweet character, so sweet his face was like that of an angel's. There are people like that today, but they are few and far between. Most of us are ordinary, our faces not noticeably "angel-like" even when we're in church. But once and awhile when we sing something like "Amazing Grace" there is a change in our faces. Music can do that and prayer and communion, too. God's love just warms us up and our faces glow. It's as if God's finger has just reached out and touched us with light and power, and our faces glow with His touch.
"God,may we always feel your touch within us and may we glow with your light and love. Amen."
And God, may we always see ourselves filled with You, for without you within us we are quite miserable! We know, that with the very thought of you, you are there! Thank you, Lord!
