KEEP WATCH; BE READY!

Revelation 16:15 tells us, "Keep watch!  I come unannounced, like a thief.  You're  blessed if,  awake and dressed, you're ready for me.  Too bad if you're found running through the streets, naked and ashamed!" Oooh, not a pretty picture!!


"Revelation sends a warning--Be alert! Be ready!  Watch for Jesus.  Watch for signs of those who need Jesus, for you are His hands and feet in the world.  Christ is counting on His people.  So watch the world to see where His love is needed! Revelation tells us to stay ready, insisting on it.


Yes, be ready!  Pray, pray, pray.  Stay centered on the Holy One and the Holy.  Think Jesus! Sleep Jesus!  Especially in a crisis when it is more difficult to think clearly, think and act: Jesus, Jesus, Jesus! If failure comes, remember Jesus and His blood of redemption and God's kindness because of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross and be ready once again.


All this, done not to be found naked and ashamed.  All this, done to give honor to the Father, Creator God. All this, given because this is who I desire to be.  All this, given because I am His.


Thank you, God, for the great privilege of being Yours.  And thank you for your Word that reminds me of your desire for me... and all that love you... to keep watch and to be ready.  Amen.


Let's each one of us stay firm in Him, ready to show the world and those within it, what the Lord Jesus is all about!
