BE READY TO SHARE CHRIST

In I Peter 3:15b and 16  says, "Always be ready to make defense to anyone who demands from you an  accounting for the hope that is in you, yet do it with gentleness and reverence."

As Christians we have a belief, a faith that has no foundation on this earth; it is not of this world.  This faith may make others defensive, critical, or curious, but we must be ready and prepared to answer.  We are the only Bible that most of the world will ever see, and if we're not kinder and more at peace, why would anyone want to become a Christian?

When we may be asked, "How could you not feel angry or used in that situation?" or "Why didn't you retaliate?" we've got to be ready to share our faith in Jesus Christ, and not let the moment slip away.  If we do, it would be as if we'd betrayed Jesus.

This takes practice, I believe. If I were to be asked one of these questions at this moment, I might mumble, hesitate, or just plain chicken out! It is easy to express myself on paper, but much harder for me to say what I want to say the way I want to say it when standing with someone side by side!

But the world today has it's own idea about this person, Jesus Christ, and also about His people!  And that idea may not be so good!  So, think about it.  And get yourself ready to defend the  greatest gift ever given to this old world!

Lord Jesus, make us always ready to gently and with reverent tenderness share your wondrous love and gift to humanity. Amen.

Are you with me?
