Isiah 32:6,8 tells us "For fools speak folly and their minds plot inequity. But those who are noble plan noble things, and by noble things they stand."
The prophet Isaiah makes very clear that our lives will go down the path that dominates our mindset. If we think nobly, noble deeds will result. If we think foolishness, foolish and destructive actions will occur, and we will deny our faith. When our minds are allowed to wander into areas that are destructive, our actions become perverted and not Christ-like. Nothing just "happens." All actions are first determined in the mind.
My mindset determines the road I will travel. If I focus my mind on high things, noble things, good things, that is the action I will take. It can be no other way. I won't stray into foolish actions without first considering those actions in my mind.
Lord Jesus, Keep my mind on you so that my actions, words, and heart will reflect your love and grace to others. Amen.
