COMPASSION

In Ps.103:13,14 and 2 Peter 3:99 we read, "As a father has compassion for his children, so the Lord has compassion for those who fear Him.  For He knows how we were made; He remembers we are dust...for the Lord is...patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance."

These scriptures remind us again that God's plan will be done.  He has compassion for His creation not wanting to lose a single one to the world.  God made us as humans to have free will so that we can either accept or reject His love.  A parent can't force a child to be kind and loving, but nevertheless, hopes and prays for the child to be right with himself, his God, and his family.

As God has shown such unbelievable compassion for me, forgiving me again and again for my transgressions, so I, too, as a parent and friend must do likewise.  God formed me and knows at life's end my body will become as dust, but He wants my soul to love and honor Him.  He always waits for me to come around.

Lord Jesus, I praise you for your love in coming to earth in human form to reveal the compassion of the Father to humanity.  Amen.

This blog, once written by my husband, Jerry, to be read by our children, was chosen for you today by me as it is such a suitable reminder to all of us why we need our God's compassion every day.  I hope you have someone in your own life who can remind you daily of the God who loves you. What a lucky woman I am!
