GOD NEVER GIVES UP

In Micah 4:5b,7b and Hebrews 6:10 we find the following: "We will walk in the name of the Lord our God forever and ever...and the Lord will reign in Mt. Zion now and forevermore...For God is not unjust; He will not overlook your work and the love you showed for His name in serving the saints as you still do."

Earlier in Hebrews six it tells the reader that there is the danger of being cut off from God if we've been enlightened by the Holy Spirit and then fall away, like the people of Israel did again and again.  But the writer says in Heb. 6:10, "God is not unjust and sees the good work and love that is done in His name and counts it as "good.""  When we repent, God says many times, nothing can separate us from the love of God, except our own will.  We can choose to turn our backs on God and reject Him, crucifying Jesus again and again.

But God knows the people's hearts, and knows what we are up to.  He has called me again and again when I have forgotten Him. And He has waited for me to invite Him to reign, once again, in me, like He did at Mt Zion for the Hebrews.  He must be disappointed if I let Him wait.  But God, not like me or the Israelites, never gives up.

Lord, help me to keep my eyes, ears, heart and soul focused on You, and not on myself.  Amen.
